Beyond the Beat is a New Zealand web series that explores the stories behind the music—its creators, communities, and the cultural forces that shape sound. Shot with a mix of intimate interviews, live performance footage, and behind-the-scenes access, the series spotlights emerging and established artists across genres, revealing how identity, place, and collaboration inform their work.

As the editor, I shaped the series’ narrative flow and pacing, balancing lyrical performances with candid conversation to create a rhythm that highlights both musical moments and personal storytelling. The result is a visually engaging, emotionally resonant series that celebrates Aotearoa’s diverse sonic landscape while drawing viewers into the creative process.
